Q: How do I take good non professional pictures?
A:
Shoot in natural light/outdoors, this will help avoid redeye and flash glare
Try to use simple backgrounds
Wear simple or no makeup
Wear minimal or no jewellery
Include: A recent picture, full face, profile and 3/4 or full length
If using a digital camera ensure the resolution is at least 2 Megapixel
Avoid using a webcam, most do not produce high enough quality pictures
Ensure the camera is not too close to your face, many cameras will not focus at distances less than one meter
Get someone else to take your pictures, do not try to do them yourself.
Your pictures should not include other people.
In general the sun should be roughly behind the person with the camera, not the subject.
If the sun is behind the subject, consider using flash.
